Note:
Shoestring Potatoes was written in Fall 2013 for solo harpsichord. It intends to explore the extremes of relative “dryness” and “wetness” of the harpsichord, through intricate rhythmic relationships between the two hands, often poly-rhythmically rubbing against one another for a tremolo-like chordal effect, while occasionally syncing up in odd subdivisions of the beat. The frenetic energy of these sections are interrupted with dry statements with punctuated silences, breaking the constantly driving flow of the beginning, and then repeating the process.
