Note:
Brother Sit Upright Work from Home was written in Summer 2013. The piece is essentially a short composition for piano, while the rest of the ensemble mostly amplifies its material. The ensemble of struck tin cans, harmonicas and double basses variably frames the piano's music by responding and altering it, anticipating it, or thickening the atmosphere around it. Formally, the different possible gamuts of sound and pairings of the ensemble with the piano are presented one at a time, before culminating in all of the gamuts and the entire ensemble playing together.
